Benefit Cheekathon Review

Benefit and I are kind of in a love/hate relationship. I adore most of the products and am a huge fan of the POREfessional primer, foundation,highlighter- but I honestly think that they are a bit pricey, not to say some are obviously overpriced for the amount of product. So my heart literally jumped when I saw the value set on offer. 6 amazing blush’s, original size for the ‘mere’ price of 59 euros. Just so you know: one blush cost 31-33 euros and I’ve only used the try sizes as I hadn’t dared to buy the original. I dunno, maybe I’m just weird when it comes to blush.

At first, I wasn’t really sure if I should take the jump and go ahead and order. My dear Friend Lea and I were discussing the temptation on a regular basis. Shall we or shall we not? It was an amazing opportunity plus we would save a flipping huge amount of money too. But you’ve probably guessed right-we ended up purchasing it. Till now I haven’t regretted my decision. The packaging is adorable and so cute! Not to mention, it’s not too big and fits rather nicely in any medium handbag. When I opened the box set, the typical Benefit scent wavered across. If you are very sensitive when it comes to perfumed makeup, I do not recommend this product as the fragrant tends to be a bit heavy. I personally, love love love love makeup that smells amazing. I just feel better.

I was a little put off from how the blush looked really intense on its own. However, I was pleasantly surprised how subtle they were on my fair skin. ( fair is an understatement, I am friggin paler than a ghost. I AM a fucking ghost) I’ve played around with the colors and I love 5 out of the 6 blush. image

From left to right: Dallas, Coralista, Dandelion, Hoola and Rockateur.

I really had to put a good dollop of blush on my arm so the color was noticeable. For fair skin, I prefer mixing Coralista with Dandelion. That goes pretty well with everyday makeup and gives me a healthy glow without looking overloaded. Rockateur and Coralista, I mix for a tad heavier, glamourous makeup because I think it just gives off more of a profound, distinct and sexy look. Hoola, as the most of you prob already know, is amazing for contouring! The blushes are smooth and blendable, really nice touch to it and applying it wasn’t a big drama either. ( I sometimes put waaaaaay too much on my brush and I look like a fucking clown, so just keep an eye on that.)

I really do not know what to do with the shade Dallas. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to apply it correctly? Lost here!

So to sum it up: I love the set and it’s a great way to play around with different styles and looks. Plus you save a shit ton of money. Basically, you get 4 entire shades for free! If that’s not a good argument, I dunno what is.

What are your experiences with Benefit? Hell yess or Hell no? Let me know!

Chin up and Sail strong!
